How we measure impact

Food is for eating, not wasting

Every kilogram we recover is counted, classified and reported — so funders and communities can see what’s changing. Published impact reports will appear here once there is real data.

How we measure impact

Only completed food opportunities count towards our statistics, and everything is recorded in kilograms. Recovery is classified three ways:

  • Direct recovery — provider and recipient connect on the platform.
  • Facilitated recovery — our team steps in so food isn’t lost.
  • Gleaning recovery — crops harvested at volunteer harvest events.

Our principles

What ReFood is — and isn’t

No payments

ReFood doesn’t process payments and isn’t a marketplace. Food is shared, not traded.

Direct hand-offs

Collection is arranged directly between participants — we don’t run messaging or logistics.

Honest expectations

We can’t guarantee allocation of any opportunity, but we’ll step in where recovery would otherwise fail.

Join our movement to reduce food waste and build stronger communities

Whether you have surplus to share or a community to feed, there’s a place for you here.
